Katherine Kral is a relentless attorney on the Criminal Defense team. Her compassionate yet tenacious character makes for a highly effective advocate in the courtroom. She has a strong interest in understanding others and strives to learn about her clients as a whole person, not simply the legal charges levied against them. Developing true connections helps Katherine negotiate on her client’s behalf.
Prior to joining Springer & Steinberg, Katherine spent most of her legal career in the Roaring Fork Valley as a Deputy District Attorney. Having taken many misdemeanor and felony cases to trial as a prosecutor, she has a personal knowledge of exactly what the prosecution needs to prove beyond a reasonable doubt. Katherine deals with cases ranging from traffic infractions to homicides.
Previous to her legal career, Katherine obtained a double major in Finance and Economics and was a Financial Advisor at Morgan Stanley and subsequently Merrill Lynch. As a Wisconsin native, Katherine grew up skiing on a landfill, “Crystal Ridge,” and the “mountains are calling” seed was planted early. Having coached ski racers, Colorado was an obvious dream which came true for her in 2016. In her free time, she teaches skiing part-time, most recently with Aspen Skiing Company. She also enjoys long bike rides – including Vermont Overland and Colorado’s Triple Bypass, tennis, hiking, kayaking, and reading Malcolm Gladwell while eating dark chocolate.
